Our 1%

FlockThreads gives away 1% of its revenue. Not 1% of profit, and not only on church orders. One percent of what the company earns, so it gets paid in a bad year as well as a good one.

We give once a quarter, in one payment per organisation, and we publish every payment on this page with the receipt.

It costs you nothing

The 1% comes out of our margin. Nothing is added to your total, no line appears at checkout, and we never collect a donation from you or hold money on any charity's behalf. You buy a shirt at the price on the tag. We are the donor. You tell us the direction.

You choose the direction

There is a short question in your cart, just above the checkout button. Pick the work you would most like our giving to support. We count every pick, and each quarter the money goes to the organisations our customers chose most.

It is a vote, not a transfer. Your individual order is not itself a donation to the charity you picked, and picking one does not change what you pay.

These are the options, all of them Charity Navigator 4-star, ECFA-accredited, or both:

• Compassion International — one-to-one child sponsorship through local churches.
• Samaritan's Purse — emergency relief after disasters, war, and famine.
• World Vision — clean water, nutrition, and child wellbeing.
• Convoy of Hope — hunger relief and disaster response.
• The Salvation Army — local community aid, shelter, and food.

Every gift we have made

This table is built from a file in our public build repository, and it is append-only. Rows are added, never edited or removed, so the version history shows that no past number was quietly changed. If we ever record a gift wrongly, we add a correcting row rather than rewriting the old one.

If a quarter's total for any one organisation comes to less than $25, we roll it into the next quarter so more of it survives the transfer fees.
